Book reading of "Sindhi Reflections" in Mumbai on January 6, 2008

January 6, 2008?  What's so special about this date?
You've heard of Alice in Wonderland? Well, most Hindu Sindhis believed till January 6, 1948 that their ancestral home Sindh would always be their home for generations to come. On this date they woke up to a new reality, the reality of what it means to live in a land that is newly created on religious lines.
Rampant looting, merciless killings took place on this date in 1948, exactly 60 years ago.

My book deals with what exactly happened before during and after the Partition to this 12,25,000 Hindu Sindhi population once the Partition was announced. Sindhi Hindus lost their homes, yes, but they are now stateless citizens everywhere in the world and subject of derision wherever they go because their "ways" find a home nowhere in the world.
The book reading will be followed by a lively question answer session and is open to anyone who is sincerely interested in the subject of the Partition. The book also has a foreword by Mr L.K.Advani, the ex Deputy Prime Minister of India

There will be snacks and refreshments after the book signing. The book, priced at Rs 800, will be offered at a whopping Rs 300 discount, with the 60th anniversary price at Rs 500 per copy. Club dress code applies.
